Sizes
- Diameter: 3 in through 12 in, in 1 in steps — measured at the butt (large) end
- Length: 8 ft to 36 ft, in 2 ft increments
Not every diameter comes in every length:
- 3 in — available 8 ft to 22 ft
- 4 in and 5 in — available 8 ft to 24 ft
- 6 in and larger — available the full 8 ft to 36 ft
Estimated Volume
Logs taper from butt to tip, so usable volume is less than a straight cylinder at the butt diameter. Typical figures:
| Butt Diameter | 8 ft | 16 ft | 24 ft | 36 ft |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 in | ~0.3 cu ft | ~0.6 cu ft | — | — |
| 6 in | ~1.4 cu ft | ~2.7 cu ft | ~3.9 cu ft | ~5.5 cu ft |
| 9 in | ~3.3 cu ft | ~6.3 cu ft | ~9.2 cu ft | ~13.2 cu ft |
| 12 in | ~5.9 cu ft | ~11.4 cu ft | ~16.8 cu ft | ~24.4 cu ft |
To estimate any other combination: cu ft ≈ 0.0055 × D² × L, where L is the length in feet and D is the average diameter in inches. At these sizes the average diameter runs a little under the butt diameter — figure roughly a quarter inch less on the small poles and about half an inch less on the 10–12 in logs.
Volumes are estimates. Every log is a natural product and individual pieces will vary in taper, sweep, and diameter.
Delivery & Pickup
Available for delivery or customer pickup. In both cases the customer is responsible for unloading — please have equipment on site capable of handling logs of the length and weight you've ordered.
Make sure your unload area is reachable by truck and has enough room to maneuver, particularly for logs 24 ft and longer.
Please allow 1–2 weeks for your order.
