Supplier questions

• How do I sell lumber to Wasatch Timber?

  Create a supplier account at supplier.wasatchtimber.com, then list what you produce — species, grade, sizes, volume, moisture and shipping point. A buyer reviews your listing and contacts you when it matches what we’re sourcing. There is no cost to create an account or to list.

• Do you buy hardwood as well as softwood?

  Both. On the softwood side we buy Douglas fir, spruce, ponderosa, lodgepole and white pine, hem-fir, cedar and larch. On the hardwood side, red and white oak, hard and soft maple, walnut, cherry, ash, hickory, birch, poplar, aspen and alder. Species not on the list are still worth listing — add them to your account and we’ll tell you straight.

• Do you buy from Canadian mills?

  Yes. We buy across all Canadian provinces as well as all 50 US states, and we work in both cubic metres and board feet, USD or CAD.

• Is there a minimum volume?

  No fixed minimum. We buy single truckloads and standing annual programs alike — what matters is whether the material fits what we’re sourcing and whether the freight works.

• Do I need an account, or can I just email you?

  You can email office@wasatchtimber.com any time. An account is better if you want your production kept in front of our buyers, and if you’d rather update one listing than resend a tally each time your run changes.

• What information should I have ready?

  Species and product, grades and sizes, moisture (green, air dried or kiln dried), volume and how often you can supply, your shipping point, and an asking price if you have one. Certification and grade stamp details help too — FSC, SFI or PEFC, and WWPA, WCLIB, NLGA, SPIB or NHLA.

• Do you buy certified or graded material?

  Yes, and we buy ungraded mill-run as well. Tell us what you have: certified, stamped, or neither. It changes where the material can go, not whether we’re interested.

• Who handles freight?

  Either side can. Tell us whether you’re quoting FOB your mill or delivered, and whether you load trucks, rail or containers. We can arrange the move when you’d rather not.
