Chip was very helpful in determining the overall condition of our log cabin. He made many suggestions for care and restoration that we will be implementing going forward. His expertise was greatly appreciated and to top it off he was super nice.
2–3 in thick. Natural edge slab with the bark hand peeled from one edge and a square edge on the other, milled in Utah from local timber.
We’ll call you before anything is cut. Every slab is one of a kind, so we confirm the dimensions, character and finish with you before milling.
Peeling by hand takes the bark and cambium off while leaving the natural line of the tree intact. You get the live edge shape without the rough bark surface — a cleaner look that still reads as natural, and one that takes finish more evenly. The square edge sits flat against a wall or cabinet.
Suited to mantels, shelving and desk tops where the piece is handled often or sits at a height people brush past.
Sizes. 2–3 in thick. Widths from 6–8 in up to 23–24 in. Lengths from 8 ft to 24 ft. Sold as a complete board — the price you see is for the whole slab, not per foot.
What to expect. Each slab is unique. Width ranges are nominal and the peeled edge follows the tree’s own contour, so it is smooth but not straight.
Thicknesses beyond 2–3 in are special order — contact the office and we will quote it.
