What is a wide beam wrap?
A wide beam wrap is a single, wide timber plank milled to the exact width and thickness you need. Because each face is one piece, even the wide bottom of a large beam shows no board seams. Use them to cover a glulam, update dated or painted beams, or build a hollow box beam that looks like a massive solid timber.

Sizing example
Wrapping a 5-1/8" x 12" glulam on all four sides with 1" wraps gives a finished beam of about 7-1/8" x 14". Wrapping only three sides (sides and bottom) gives about 7-1/8" x 13". Tell us the finished size you want and we'll work out the wrap widths for you.

- Choose your finished size: the outside dimensions you want to see.
- Tell us which sides are exposed: 3-sided (against a ceiling) or 4-sided.
- Request a quote: we'll confirm widths, thickness, and lead time.

How thin can you mill a wrap?
Down to 1" thick, at widths from 6" to 20".
Why not use standard boards?
Standard boards are narrow, so wrapping a wide beam means seams across the face. Our wide wraps cover the face in one piece and are milled to the thickness you need.
Can I wrap a beam that's already installed?
Yes. That's one of the most common uses. Send us the existing beam's measurements and we'll size the wraps.
How do I hide the corner joints?
Joints can be mitered or butted, or you can use L-cuts for one-piece corners. We're happy to talk through the best option for your project.
